Hello there,

My name is Dale Kirk, I was born in Edmonton, Alberta. I moved to Victoria, BC, in the summer of 2012 to pursue an education in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria, where I graduated with a major in Kinesiology, and a minor in Psychology in May of 2017. Currently, I am a practicing member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists since 2019.

Initially in university, I was focused on working in the professional sporting realm, ideally, with an ice hockey organization. Through a variety of experiences, my interest shifted to learning about pain, the pain experience and it’s individualized complexity. Everybody experiences pain on a certain level. It's part of the human experience. Often, there can be too much emphasis placed on eliminating pain, which is understandable, due to its unpleasantness, but at times, lost in that is a person's ability to regain function and passion in their life.

My current practice is focused on guiding an individual in pain; to provide education and reassurance that the human mind, body, and spirit is a strong, resilient, ever evolving being. Regardless of how challenging an obstacle may seem, with patience and consistency, it's possible to regain confidence in movement, and return to the things that make you smile, that make you groove, to get back to the activities you love.

With that said, be kind to yourself. Set aside time today for a healthy activity that makes you happy. For me, that's putting on some tunes, and going for a walk with no particular destination in mind.
